Upon its inception EGH set out to defy the labels of Hardcore, metal, and punk, to bring a new level of energy to the heavy music genre. Formed in 1996 by Rob Cullin (Vocals & Lyrics), Chris Benetos (Bass & Vocals), and Steve Pettit (Guitars & Backing vocals), coming out of other projects – Rob from Setback, Chris from Fit of Anger & Outburst, Steve from D-mize and 25 ta Life - Each member brought a different musical prospective. In 1997 EGH recorded and released their self- titled demo, produced by Mike Dijan (Crown of Thornz, Breakdown), as well as a split release with Billy Club Sandwich on Back ta Basics records. These releases helped gain the attention of international and national record labels. This attention leading to releases such as a split release with Maryland’s Strong Intention (FistFight Records), Hardcore 2000- compilation (Century Media), as well as The Spirit Lives On: A Tribute to Raybeez and Warzone Tribute-compilation (Hatecore Records). In 2002 EGH recorded and released their first full length. The self-produced, self-distributed “The Dark Seeds of Man”. Shortly there after drummer Pauly Antignani amicably resigned to join the ranks of Sworn Enemy. EGH quickly filled the position with replacement, Tom Murphy. EGH then used American and Japanese profits from “Dark Seeds” to fund their October 2002 tour of Europe, with the support of Germany’s Settle the Score. EGH introduced their Hardcore style to Germany, Holland, Denmark, France, and England. Another chapter is about to take place as Everybody Gets Hurt prepares to hit the road across the US, tour Australia in 2005, and prepare new material for their second full length release. EGH provides a commanding live show as well as a steadily growing fan base. EGH has played each major venue on the East Coast as well as played with a myriad of nationally recognized acts including but, not limited to Bad Brains, Cro-Mags, Leeway, Agnostic Front, Murphy’s Law and Hatebreed. If you want fast paced hardcore from a band which is strong both musically and lyrically, take’s a lot of pride in their music, and that’s sure to keep the kids moving, EGH is the absolutely the most brutal, jawbreaking, bloody fisted hardcore band you can find.
